Music Magazine
Proposal Form
Target audience:
(age range, interests)
|
My target audience will be females aged 15-25. Their interests will be
shopping, looking good, partying and having fun. They would like taking tips
from magazines and watching television
|
Possible title
ideas:
(masthead / title block)
What
is your magazine going to be called?
|
Possible mastheads: Pop! Tunez, rhythm, beat, top pop, clash, eminence,
and loud. I chose to go with “Eminence” as it sounds sophisticated and classy
as well as the meaning which is fame and high rank which relates to my artist
and she is well known
|
Main image:
What
will be the focal point of your front page, remember, your work
|
My main image will be a long mid shot of a female, with a dress on or
maybe some flashy clothes, flashy jewellery to show the fame and the richness
|
Main cover line:
What
will be the main story?
|
How she found fame and how it changed her life. Also the negative
feedback she got how she dealt with it and who she looked up to all her life.
Also the big awards she achieved
|
Additional key
images:
What
other images will be on your front cover?
|
Other images will be of the barcode, price tag but no images of the
model as she is the main focus and the magazine and double page spread is
based on her and her life
|
Additional cover
lines:
Other
features, stories or selling points which will be inside the magazine, these
need to be audience appropriate.
|
These will be “10 new song releases”, “the spice sisters fall apart”,
collaborations with other artists. These cover lines will relate to the
target audience and the main artist. They are also related to the music
industry as it is a music magazine and that’s what people will be looking
for.
|
Typography:
(style, size, colour of copy)
Think
about the writing and the style of the writing on your front page.
|
The masthead will be black as the other images and typography will be
in pink and other shades of pink. The masthead will most probably be italic
and the other information will be in normal straight writing
|
Background
colour/image:
What
will be in the background, remember you don’t want to take the focus away
from the main image.
|
The background will be a simple and plain colour such as white so that
the rest of the information can stand out and the audience can focus on the
main image.
|
Technical
considerations:
(equipment, setting, props, costume, lighting)
Be
realistic and creative, think about what you have access to and how you could
use it.
|
The lighting will be light making my model stand out; the setting of
the pictures I will take will be on green screen so that I can accurately cut
around my model and put her onto a backdrop. The equipment I will use will be
a camera and a tripod so that some of the angles of the images will be
straight and not wonky. The makeup will be light and the costume will be
standing out glittery or shiny
|
2 Page Spread:
(what will be the main article in your magazine?)
This
will need to be the main story on your cover, what detail will be featured
inside?
|
The double spread pages will include image of the model of half of one
page and questions and answers on the rest. There will be a large quote for
the audience to read as soon as they open up the page so that they can
instantly start reading.
